Q:  I recently became a fan of "Friday the 13th: The Series," and I was wondering if you could confirm the fact that the actor who plays Ryan is named John D. LeMay. If so, where could I write to him?

A:  Indeed, that is the actor's name, and you can write to him in care of Paramount Television, 5555 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, California 90038. A Minnesota native, LeMay has appeared in episodes of such other shows as "Highway to Heaven," "The Facts of Life" and "Reminington Steele." He also appeared in the movie "The Couch Trip" with Dan Aykroyd, Walter Matthau and Charles Grodin. Though Paramount had high hopes for "Friday" when it hit the syndication market last fall, the studio wasn't prepared for the huge success it has had, so it's no surprise that the series will begin its second season this fall. In fact, it's one of the few shows guaranteed to start its new year on time:  It's produced in Canada, so it has been exempt from the writers-strike-related holdups that have plagued so many other programs.

DEAR MONIKA:  Can you please give me some information about the guy who plays Ryan on "Friday the 13th: The Series"?   How old is Ryan supposed to be?--L.K. Garfield Heights, Ohio.

Dear L.K.:  Actor John D. LeMay - who is in his early 20s, the same general age of his character Ryan.   Born in Minneesota and raised in Normal, Illinois, LeMay has appeared in episodes of "Highway to Heaven," "My Sister Sam" and "Facts of Life."   When not shooting "Friday the 13th" in Toronto, he lives in Los Angeles.

A:   I am a huge fan of Friday the 13th: The Series which was being shown on the Sci-Fi Channel until November last year and I particularly liked the excellent cast. The actors that I am seeking information on are John D LeMay who played Ryan Dallion, Robey who played Micki Foster, Chris Wiggins who played Jack Marshak and Steven Monarque who played Johnny Ventura in season three. I realize that you must get lots of letters and can't answer them all, but if you could provide me with any information you can find, it would mean a lot to me.
Mark Owensen, East Lothian

A:  There's not a great deal of information around, but John D. LeMay was born in Minnesota, U.S.A. and grew up in Illinois where he worked a lot in local theatre before heading for L.A. to try for the big time. He is sometimes credited as Brian D LeMay or Jon D LeMay and appeared in the films The New Kids, The Couch trip, Friday the 13th IX (Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday) and Without A Map. ...
